Hi All,
I have received GRP data from vendor. the value I received from vendor are as below:

Axial Tensile Modulus (Eat) = 10500 MPa
Shear Modulus (G) = 11500 MPa

based on above vendor data the Ratio of Shear Modulus to Elastic modulus is 1.0952 and I am trying to update FRP material properties in CAESAR II configuration Editor.

When I am entering this value in CAESAR II configuration editor, following error message pops up "please enter a value between 0.0 to 1.0".

Please advise if its a CAESAR II error or the data received from vendor needs to be rechecked. I checked some of the old reference data and observed that axial modulus is always higher than the shear modulus.

Thanks in advance for expert advice.

Naren!!

Can you confirm which catalouge/vendor you are referring for this? Since Axial modulus will always be higher than the shear modulus.

Double check the values with Vendor. Your ratio (in this case) should be less than 1.

R.K.

Hi RK,
I am using Wavistrong catalogue. I checked with vendor and they confirmed their values are correct.

Naren,
At what temperature they had provided you these values. If I am not wrong, then these value should be at room temperature. Check the shear modulus at operating temperature.

Hi Naren/RK
Did you find the solutions for this issue. Im also facing the same issue.
The client has provided the below given values.

Axial Tensile Modulus (Eat) = 11000 MPa
Shear Modulus (G) = 11700 MPa
Im getting the same error. Can we assume this value as 1.
Please advise

I have requested a program change that will remove the 1.0 limit on this ratio.
In the meantime...
The value you specify in the configuration file will be passed on to the Special Execution Parameters for use in the model's input session. You can change this value during the input session. The 1.0 limit check is not used in the Special Execution Parameter entry. Re-enter the the correct ratio during the input session - but be sure to adjust it for every FRP model you build.

Hi Jojo,
I followed the method explained by Dave. it has to be changed manually for all the GRP files separately.
