Dear sir.,

How to calculate the "converged maximum allowable pressure in operating case,do we have any specific formula for calculation the maximum allowable pressure?? and how PV Elite compute thickness for calculating the converged maximum allowable pressure??"

Thank You.,
Vibin

Hi Vibin,

When you cannot revert a formula and solve directly for the allowable pressure or when there are several criteria, you must assume a pressure and check a failure/convergence condition. This is performed in an iterative manner. When the convergence criteria is met, then you have the MAWP.

This method is typical for flange design, external pressure, tubesheet analysis etc.
