Hello,

I'm considering wave loads in my calculation. Somehow CII doesnt calculate any loads because my riser clamp (and start of calculation) is at global elev. +7000mm. The wave I'm considering is 16.6m so I'm expecting to see something as the top of the wave is above +7000mm. I've noticed that I have to lower my model to somewhere around +100 global elev before CII starts giving any figures for wave load.

Can anyone explain why Caesar is not calculating any loads if my model doesnt start around global elevation 0?

Any time you have environmental loads (either wind or wave), you have to position the model vertically relative to the loading. By default, the first node in your model is at an elevation of 0.0. This is why you have the option to set the global coordinates of this first node.

Thanks for your reply Richard, I'm aware of this... so thats exactly what I did. Position first node at +7m. The wave I've specified should hit the pipe above that point but Caesar gives 0 loads for wave. Why?

Please have look at my attached model and tell me why there are 0 loads for wave in my restrain summary for static.
