Hello,

I am working on a very large CAESAR II analysis (~5k elements) that has had many, many revisions. The CAESAR II file is now over 30 megabytes.

The problem is when I make new changes they do not take effect. For instance, if I change the SIF on an intersection and run the analysis, the analysis shows the SIF before the change was made. It's almost as if CAESAR II has reached some internal limit of changes.

Can someone please help me? This is for a large project and it's due by the end of the year. I've been working on this piping analysis for 11 months.

Thank you.

Regards,

Benjamin P. L. Turner, P.E.

Check the capacity of your CAESAR II installation.
The program shows this in the Auxiliary Data area - select the tab "Model Status". If any of the items are maxed out, increase you memory allocation in the program configuration file.
(But I would guess that CAESAR II would flag any limit you reach.)

Based on the amount of RAM you have allocated (via the Configuration)there are limits to the number of SIFs you can define. However, there is no limit what so ever on the number of modifications that can be made. Your 30 Mbyte "c 2" archive contains the output also, not just the input.

Try this:
1) make your SIF change
2) save the (input) file
3) run the Error Checker (which also saves the file and deletes the output)
4) quit the input
5) start static analysis and then run from there.

If you still have issues, open a Support Request on Smart Support and send in the model file (_A).

Dave,

I have the memory set to 1024MB. I am not maxed out on any of the items in the model status.

Richard,

I tried the steps you suggested, but it is not any different. I just ordered 50 runs and I've already spent 20+ on this bug. That means I have wasted approximately $500 of my own money. I do not have a maintenance contract with Intergraph as I am paying per run. Does Smart Support still work?

Can you please advise? The clock is ticking and I am beginning to sound incompetent to my clients.
