i am a new pipe stress analysis. I'm doing nozzle load check for clamp connector (Grayloc type). the load case is OPE case (W+P+T+D+Wind). However, the require Bending moment is very big inwwhile bending momment capacity of hub is very small. I tried to re-routing the pipe to reduce the bending moment. However i all most node are failed bending moment. i checked with manufacture and they said the bending moment capacity is primary load (w, p). So i am confusing that i use the bending momment capacity in OPE case is wrong. Could you advise me the solution?

To my knowledge Grayloc type clamp connector can take bending loads. I presume your modelling technique is having some lapses.

Try to model it correctly and show this to your superior.

Can you please specify, What is the moment you are getting there? Since; Grayloc type clamp connector (with it's arrangement) will take considerable amount of bending without leaking.
