Dear all,

Load case list:

L1 W HGR hangerstiffness:rigid
L2 W+T1+P1 HGR hangerstiffness:as deigned
L3 W+T1+P1+H OPE hangerstiffness:as designed
L4 W+P1+H SUS hangerstiffness:as designed
L5 W SUS hangerstiffness:rigid

no anchor or restraints freed,
so i first think the load of L1 AND L5 will be equal, yes in a very simple model ,they are equal,but in a model where contain +Y restraint+Mu(friction), The results or this two case are different, why?

In addition to friction and free anchor/restraints ,are there any other reasons lead to difference of L1 AND L5;

and can i look the results of L5 as weight distribution other than L1?
Thank you!

Regards!

L1 need not equal L5. Rather than review several examples, I think it would be best for you to simulate L1 by hand. That is, run the system through a weight analysis with rigid restraints at each hanger location. This sets the load for L2 - operating case with "ideal" hanger loads. Watch how the nonlinear support configuration may change in L2. Any change here causes CAESAR II to go back and rerun the L1 with the new supports. And so on.
It takes a little more time but it clearly shows where the numbers come from.
