B31.3 Para 319.2.1 - c says for settlement type displacement the allowable can be higher than expn. stress range allowable with no further guidance. Any suggestions on what allowable should be considered? In a previous discussion on the same topic some members have quoted Sec III NC allowable viz. 3653.2-b, iMD/Z < 3*Sc. But my seniors advice me to use the B 31.3 expn. stress range allowable with a f factor of 1.2 - 3125 cycles limit.
