Hi everyone,

I have to model a firewater line with mechanical joints in CAESAR II. could anyone tell me how to model it? should I consider a SIF for it like victaulic joints?

Thanks

I am unsure of your goal here. My guess is more dead weight distribution and pipe support than flexibility analysis. If that's the case, then I would focus on getting the weight right rather than getting a better stiffness model.
Are there published load limits for these connections? If so, you can compare the loads at these nodes to those limits.
I think you will find that, after running a few lines, there is little benefit in spending much time modeling this detail.
