Typically we used SIF = 1.3 for Socket Weld as well as dummy legs or trunnions supporting Line Pipe. Now, as we entered the SIF we typically left type of joint blank. And the joints have all around fillet weld. Now, we have come across Caesar II models, SIF's were not entered. However, B31.3 in Appendix D we find that for Fillet or Socket weld to use 1.3. In the past versions of B31.3 the SIF used to be 2.1. Are we on the right track?
