Hi, I have a user that is having trouble with the screen tearing. When he pans along a pipe the display image will tear and leave screen artifacts. It will then freeze for a bit. We have tried updating the display drivers for the Quadro k2000m card. It is Ceasar 2 5.30 build 120131 on a Win 7 64 bit machine. Any ideas?

In the Configuration\Graphics pane, try switching the video setting (OPENGL is better than Windows-Basic, but this isn't necessarily true for all graphics cards).
Does this happen with all models or just the one you're working on now?

We noticed the OpenGL in the settings but did not change it. We can give that a try. User said he did notice it occurring on different models.
Some things we tried: Setting Vsync in the nvidia control panel to OFF/ON then Adaptive, instead of the default 'let software decided settings'. That didn't seem to help. Vsync settings are a culprit for tearing in video games so I thought we would give it a try.
Thanks

Hello Richard,
I am having the same problem with version 5.3. It happens when I open Smart Plant Review, then my windows color scheme change from Aero to Basic. After the scheme is Basic the problem happens. I tried changing the video setting to Windows-Basic and so far is working fine.
A co-worker solved, placing the CAESAR window on screen 1 (monitor 1) and using SPR on monitor 2. I´ve also noticed that when I use version 6.3 the graphics are ok on Open-GL.

Version 5.30 and 6.10 use different versions of the (HOOPs) graphics library (6.10 being the later, newer version). This sounds like there is some sort of conflict between the 5.30 graphics library and your video card driver.
Typically these problems can be resolved by updating the video board graphics driver to the latest version. Make sure you go directly to the manufacturer's web site, don't download the driver from Microsoft's site.

I am running Version 7.00.00.2800 of Caesar and Version 10.01.00.0071 of SPR
Video card AMD Radeon R7 250
When loading SmartPlant Review (SPR) the windows colour scheme changes to Windows 7 Basic,
This colour scheme conflicts with Caesar II creating a problem with Freezing and tearing of the Caesar model.
As we run both Caesar and SPR at the same time I would like to know if there is possibility to fix this error?
thanks
Guy
