I'm having trouble doing something in version 4.30 that was pretty easy back in 3.24.

I'm in the excel style spreadsheet view of the model that lists all the elements sequentially, with tabs at the bottom to look at elements, restraints, hangers, etc.

I am trying to copy a block of elements to another point in the model. Back in 3.24, you would highlight the range of elements (F1, as I recall), move your cursor to the element that you wanted the block inserted after, and boom, you could insert a copy of the elements anywhere in the model you wanted.

4.30 claims to be able to do this with the option of "After Element XXX to YYY" in the "Insert Copied Block" box of the copy dialog.

However, whenever I highlight the cell that I want the block inserted after, the block becomes unhighlighted and I'm left with just the one element.

What am I missing?

Also, when going through the manuals, I've not been able to find any mention of this spreadsheet screen or the use of the toolbar icons on the main input screen. Where are these documented?

Ed,

You can still do the same thing. After highlighting the block, just down arrow to the element you want the insert to occur after. This is also discussed in one of the CAESAR II tips pages on this site. Click here to go to this tips page, once there, click on the LIST item.

The toolbar buttons are discussed in the User's Guide, starting on page 5-23.

I hope this helps. Let me know if not.

Got it. That was just what I needed.

Thanks,
