Hi, i haver question for friction effect of rigid Y restraint.

1. Load Case
1) T1+P1+D1
2) T1+P1+D1+D2

2. Y (Hold Down) Restraint with Friction Coefficient 0.3 / Node 2400

My normal Operating Case is 1) Load case and I try to add settlement(-50mm / D2) as 2) Load Case (The Loads is simplified for my question)
According to the load case, D2 doesn`t have any effect on 1) Load Case(Normal. OPE)
but at Y(Hold Down) Point, Load Case 1) show different result from the reaction before Inputting D2. Friction Load disappears.
To input D2, I used C-Node 2401.
How activate friction effection when i use C-Node for Y(vertical) Restraint.
Thax.

I'm not sure I understand your description of the problem - sorry. However, friction acts in a plane perpendicular to the restraint, assuming there is a load on the restraint. No load, then no friction.

Why haven't you included "W" (weight) in your load cases?
