Hello Experts,
I am trying to use loop design wizard but I can't define the clear cube area. Once I select "draw cube", it draws a default cube. I can change the height of the cube by grabbing the triangle and moving up and down. Sometimes I can move the whole cube but I can't actually grab pt-1 or pt-2 to make the cube bigger.
My element is not defined along any global axis so I can't type in the length field under major direction either.
It won't design the loop because the element is not in the cube area.
Has anybody run into this?
Thanks!

This is very interesting. Could you please submit a Support Request on this to Smart Support? Send in the job file with details on which element you are trying to have the loop designed for.

In the meantime, instead of dragging your cube borders, type in your cube dimensions at the bottom of the screen.

I tried that but the shape of the cube doesn't work. My element is at about 45 degree angle in X-Z plane and I am trying to put a flat expansion loop. It won't allow me to put cube dimensions in Z axis.
P.S.I sent the request.

I suggest a work around to keep you moving forward...
If you (temporarily) rotate your model 45 degrees about the Y axis, that skewed line will appear along the X or Z axis and the loop wizard criteria should be satisfied so you can use it. You will have to run the rotated model to have output available for the loop wizard.
Once done adding and confirming the loop, rotate your model back and run it again.

Hi Dave,
It still gives me the error that element doesn't line in the cube area and won't design the loop. This time element is clearly in the drawn cube area because I rotated the model.
Thanks,

Could you submit a Support Request on Smart Support, and send in the model file, with instructions so that Tech Support can reproduce your problem?

I already have sent the model file.
Thanks!

The problem here was twofold:

1) The element length was not long enough to contain the standard radius bend expansion loop so the wizard couldn't do it.

2) The line was skewed and the loop wizard doesn't work on skewed lines (this is something we are looking at adding in the future).

#1 would work if you had the option in the loop wizard to add short-radius bends (another possible enhancement for the future).
