Hi all,

A quick question, ive built my CAESAR II model for a FRP piping network. However after analysing the file, I get an allowable stress of 0.0 for reducers in my stress extended output. I have keyed in all my qualified stresses and biaxial strength ratios for bends, tees, joints and such.

Is it normal to have a 0.0 allowable for reducers per ISO 14692? The code seems to say that fittings and "all other component variants" other than plain pipe be covered under the simplified stress envelope per para 7.11.1.

I have left al(1:1) and hl(1:1) blank in the allowable input stress dialogue.

YJ:

In CAESAR II, we set 0.0 allowable for reducers, because ISO-14692 does not explicitly specify a design envelope for reducer.

But you have a valid point in refering to para 7.11.1. We are now in the process to evaluate code update, any suggestions or comments are really appreciated.

Regards,

Lu
