I am using CII 2013. My question is with regards to comparing the vertical loads on the supports in (HYD) and (SUS) cases. the flow density in my calculation is 50 kg/m3 still, I can not understand why the difference between loads in the aforementioned cases are so little.
I made one extra case "WW" only and set it on (SUS) and one more case the same but, on (HYD), to my surprise the loads on the first case are higher.
P des = 110barg
P hyd = 220barg

am I missing something here?

There are other discussions in this Forum describing the differences in the analysis when the load case is set to HYD. Rather than guessing, please open a Support Request on Smart Support and send in your job file.

Thanks Richard,

I think I figured it out; I was not aware that during the hydrotest, CII would take off the insulation weight.

There is a Configuration Directive to control whether or not that happens.

Here is something I run into while doing Hydro. Typically, these loads can be high - but there is more than one way to skin a turkey :), in the field sometimes if it is a large diameter, sections of it will be blinded and tested on the ground before it is installed. And other times temporary supports are added.
