Hello all Stressers...

We all know that if we put the anchor point at the middle of the long piperack line the friction load will be nullified (almost no friction load just thermal load)...If I remember it right one of my senior guys before told me that it is best to consider at least 3 bays of friction load if this is the case...I am trying to find the explanation behind this practice..I don't know if I heard it right during the time because I was a junior stress guy then..What's the best practice in this case...I've seen some forum in my company before to consider friction on the other side of the anchor and no friction on the other side which will yield a high anchor load..I was thinking the 3 bays of friction makes more sense but I don't know the explanation behind this school of thought if I heard it right before..

Appreciate the help...

Cheers!!!
