Hi
Iam analyzing a piping system which is connected to Horizontal storage tank, this tank is having 4 saddle support at equidistant, all these supports are Fixed type,I would like to clarify following doubts regarding this
1)Have anybody came across this kind of supporting or its a Mistake?
2)If all supports are fixed, the load at the support will be high due to Tank expansion right?
3)What will be the Ideal supporting arrangement?

Thank

Hi...

Can you tell me length of tank(TL to TL)? Is it a storage bullet....

Design temperature =??

May be there is a possibility if we are using tank for any kind of storage like LPG then sliding saddles not required.

Can you send the drawing if you have at harishrana1582@yahoo.com ??

Horizontal vessels, should have a fixed end and a free end. Typically, the equipment drawing will provide that information. The fixed end is typically bolted with holes and the free end will have slots.
