we are using CII version 6.1, Build 121130.

we are performing a dynamic time history analysis for slug flow.

After performing static analysis, Time-history profiles are set up, time pulse, force sets, load casses, control parameters are all defined as required.

While reviewing the dynamic time history analysis results, code stresses are calculated only for combination casses. However code stresses for pure dynamic slug load (1st case in dynamic output i.e (OCC)Maximim response) is not calculated and output shows 0. It is understandable that code stress checks are not performed, but calculated stresses should be displayed in the output.

How can we extract calculated stress values for pure dynamic slug forces?

We can also note that calulcated stresses for combination case does not include dynamic slug stresses and stress values are equal to static sustained stress values.

Please advice if we are missing something here.

Regards,

Harish

The Code Stresses should be calculated for all cases, but the allowables are set to zero for the pure dynamic cases. The combination cases should include all loads that you indicated should be combined.

I suggest you open a Support Request on Smart Suport and send in the job for review.

As per your suggestion we have raised a service request in smart support SR No. 1-483327121. Please let us know how can we share the files.

It was our input error in Time history spectrum defenitions. Calculated time was in seconds and the same was used in CII dyanmic input in seconds instead of converting the same into milliseconds.

So the program wasn’t even seeing any shock because they were happening too quickly. On fixing the time we get necessary outputs.

Thanks,
