For reference, I am running ACAD 2014 & CW 2014.

I have had a most infuriating problem crop in the steel module within the last week: I am trying to build pipe supports in the model and I cannot draw vertical steel! It seems this problem happened overnight on the model I am currently working on and it seems to be drawing-specific. I can copy all the geometry out of the current model, put it in a new drawing file and continue working, but that adds another (unnecessary) step to modeling. I am getting the following errors: “The requested component cannot be drawn” or “Element vector cannot be 0,0,0”.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Nick

Vertical Steel will be UCS dependant. I would check if it is not perhaps set to WCS. Another alternative is die draw a vertical line and then apply the members using the select line option.

Cadworx also has units limits so check your coordinates as well.
