Dear all,
I'd like to get your advice on the direction of the reaction force (or recoil force) as a result of the bursting of the rupture disc and where it applies at? will it apply to the body of the RD or the elbows of discharge line (assuming it discharges to a diffuser but after passing thru a number of elbows)? I'm using DLF=2 in this case.
Similarily, what is the direction of the reaction forces when the pressure wave of a Hammer passes thru a cross-country elbow? Should I model that reaction force on the all the elbows in the cross country no matter how how far it gets from the automated valve? Again i'm using a DLF of 2, for simplicity purposes. Should the value of the hammer reaction force be equal on all the cross-country elbows or should it be diminishing as we get further from the valve?
I know alot of you won't agree on using static analysis in doing so, but in my case i'm doing a short-cut in analysing the system, plus i don't have enough knowledge to conduct Dynamic analysis.
Thanks for your replies in advance!
Ahmad
