Back in Cadworx 2012, steel cutlist would group Plates of same size together as same item number. This is plate using Draw Plate. with Cadworx 2013, Plates of same size (using Draw Plate) are not being grouped together. is there a switch somewhere to group these together?

Same size plates (using Base Plate) are grouped together.

Anyone have this issue?

Make sure you are running the latest Service Pack. The last build I have for 2013 is R2 SP3 July 23, 2013. It should be fixed in that release.

ooops... I'm running CW Professional 2014 SP1. Is there a new SP for 2014?

There is a hotfix for 2014 after SP1. Don't know if that addresses your particular issue though.

There is a hotfix for SP1 that can be found out on Smart Support.

I would aslo make sure you are running the SBOMTOTAL command and not SBOMSINGLE.

In my tests, SBOMTOTAL combines like components properly.

Was this issue ever resolved for you? We are picking up a bunch of skid design currently and the BOM output for plate is ridiculous. We are also seeing issues with BOM weight totals.

Are there a separate SP or HF installs for Steel Professional? I cannot seem to find them. If I try to run the CADWorx Plant SP or HF on Steel Pro, I only get options to install Plant, P&ID, or fieldPIPE.

2015 Steel Professional has not been released yet. Maybe sometime in January/early February.

I am having the same issue in Cadworx 2015. Steel plate of same size and weight are not being grouped together in material list. Is there a fix for this?

gb... currently, I'm running CW2016 Pro. There is a way to group steel plates of same size and weight, like the old way back in CW2012.
Go to Steel>BOM>Setup...click Sort Order. In BOM Column Selected, this list needs to narrowed down to two. I use PART_NUMBER and STEEL_TYPE. I have my own version of Part numbers, of course.

When you run Steel Bill of material, do Run > CUT. Doing TOTAL.. you will still get N/A for quantity.

BOM output for plates is ridiculous. It needs to rewritten like old way.

anyway, to get total weight, I use SCG and TCG (selecting only steel). For small skid design, weights come out fine. But for large skid design, weight outputs show a significant differences. There seems to a big issue with CW2016.

Hopefully there'll be a fix someday.

I wonder if they fixed this in Structure 2018. Have you checked that out?

I haven't looked at Steel 2018 yet. I hope it's fixed/updated.
