As I understand, to add the effects of buoyancy on a piping system you must define the free surface elevation as the water level from the global coordinate origin in WAV1. This is fine if your water level does not change. However, I am modeling a ballast system in which it will be un-submerged in some cases (when un-ballasted) and submerged during ballasting operations. I find I can only model the system as either fully submerged (by using WAV1 in the static load case editor), or un-submerged (WAV1 not used in static load case editor).

I've also noticed I could define free surface elevations for WAV2, WAV3, and WAV4 but it seems like the program only takes the WAV1 elevation.

Is there any way I can model the system as submerged in some load cases, and un-submerged in others in the same .CAESAR II file?

The alternative is to create two .CAESAR II files for each situation, but I'd rather keep it all in the same file.

Any help is appreciated.
