Dear All,

In a structure displacement case I've added pure displacement(W+P+T+D- (W+P+T)) to thermal the expansion(D+EXP)and checked the stress. What's the difference if I see the displacement effect in the expansion from the first(W+P+T+D- (W+P))? I've tried both and it's giving me different results. Which one is correct?

Many thanks

Why not do (W+P+T+D) - (W+P)? This will give you stresses from "D+T".

This is not the same as setting up a load case as: D+T, if the system is includes non-linear boundary conditions.

The first case above is always correct. The second case is only correct for linear systems.
