I was performing flange leakage analysis for Flange-blind combination. There we need not to enter the hub dimensions for blind. In my case its a 36" 300# flange with CA 6mm and Design pressure 42 bar and temp 150 C. flange Material is 350 LF2 with standard bolting and cam profile gaskets. Blind thickness is 111 mm.
This thickness is as per UG-34.
When I perform the analysis for flange-flange joint, its ok but for flange-blind its failing in tangential stress . My doubts are:
1)I am not sure about y and m values for cam profile gaskets.
2) Do we need to change the flange face ID, flange ID for flange- blind combination.

Please suggest if i am missing something...????

You have to get m & y factors from the gasket manufacturer, for example getting information fropm PV Elite for Flexitallic gaskets

Again your flange face dimensions depend upon the actual flange face. If this is a std. flange you should be able to get this dimension from B16.47 std. (large flange).

I Do have the flange dimensions.
Again my query is do I need to consider CA for blinds.
If I am not considering the CA for blinds, its passing. Otherwise I need to increase the thickness of the blind flange.
Pls suggest.
