Dear Mr.Richard,

my question is regarding, Allowable stress value (Sc,Sh) of materials having min. tensil stength >70 ksi .

As per asme 31.1 clause 120.3.2....

The allowable stres value Sc,Sh shall not be considered greater than 20Ksi.(unless justified) for materals having min. tensil strength more than 70ksi.

But in caesar, the above clause is seems to be excluded......see below example .........

Material A335P91 has min. tesile strength of 85 ksi (Which is is > 70ksi ) ,

hence Sc shall be not more than 20 ksi.
but caesar reads directly from Asme31.1 appendix A.
as Sc = 24.3Ksi.

but for this material it should cosider as Sc = 20 ksi only............

Can u please explain this?

You mean 102.3.2.
That's the paragraph setting the allowed expansion stress range.
Sc & Sh come from Appx. A. That's what we show in CAESAR II.
Check your expansion stress limit. You should see the 20ksi maximum applied there.
