while creating a load case option for sus+wind(occ),we are using scalar combination.but in the results we find that Y load is getting changed.why so?
at the same time we find that in the user guide recommends both scalar and absolute can be used.
i want to know which is the correct way?

Scalar and absolute will give the same result if there is no compressive loading.Remember pressure induded stress is tensile and bending stress is sign independent. So now you decide which method you should go in for.Rather I would ask you on ponder on the question why scalar/absolute is recommended and not algebraic.

Can you give a more detailed information as to what do you mean by Y load is getting changed? It is getting changed w.r.t what?

Regards
