Dear Richard/Dave,

I am doing PD5500 Analysis Hand calculations. I took reference as CAESAR-II PD5500 Analysis output. Can you please clarify these doubts…
1. (Taken from CAESAR-II output) The following are the curves of Rho selected from the analysis
Values of Rho: 1.800 (curve 1), 1.984 (computed Rho), 2.00 (1.984 Curve 2)
Computed value of Rho is ok. Please provide path for that remaining two values (curve 1 & 2) and how/where they taken?

2. Values of erb/ers for values of Rho: 0.680, 0.770, 0.750, 0.850. (Provide path for that values and how/where they taken? I observed that Rho has only 3 values and erb/ers ratio has 4 values. How?

you need to submit a support request for this. We would have to evaluate the input file.

Thanks for your Quick response Mr. Mandeep singh

I feel CAESAR-II is one of the Very Good tool for using the Codes that is why I taken output report from CAESAR-II. Just I need clarification only.

1. In PD5500 ANNNEX, Rho = (d/D)*Sqrt(D / 2*eas))
From this Rho is computed that is ok. But in CAESAR-II how the remaining two values are came from (curve 1 & curve 2). How these values are taken from these curves. (please provide REF. for the curves)

2. In drawing page, I didn’t find any drawing of the VESSEL-NOZZLE to check the forces direction and at what points (A, B, C) are taken on the VESSEL-NOZZLE drawing for evaluating stresses. Because I think in PD5500 calculations are based On QUADRANTS Q1, Q2, Q3, & Q4.( IN/OUT) . BUT where these point A, B, C? (output of Caesar-ii in finding intermediate values table) (please provide REF. for calculation of intermediate values table in code PD5500)

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks In advance
