Flange leakage shall be carried out for flanges exceeding 40% of allowable stress at the node of the flange. The calculation carried out in Caesar module using Pressure Equivalent method.

My question:

In what basis for < 40% of allowable stresses in flanges need not check flange leakage.

Could you please refer the attached. In page 6 and 7, " LEAKAGE IS A FUNCTION OF ELASTIC MODULUS MORE THAN YIELD STRESS". Shall we considered the bolt allowable stresses in page 7 and conclude the same.

If possible can u explain in details
