Hi all,

How to model the trunnion support at an elbow in CAESAR with the change in temperature profile from welded point at elbow to the base plate of trunnion. Is it advisible to consider the average temperature for the trunnion in the analysis?

Arun

The trunion inside the insulation should be the same temp as the main header or close to it. Once it exits the insulation it will radiate heat how much??? Well you can guess at an average temp or do a rigorous analysis but its temp shouldn't be critical. If its temperature is critical to your results then you're likely to have troubles in the real world.

You have not stated the purpose of the trunion, its orientation, the orientation of the elbow it is attached to, all these are important variables.

Finally look at the online help documents in Caesar and do a search on this forum using the word trunion you are not the first person with questions on the topic.
