I am tying to generate a spectrum for a bursting disk rupture event.

I am being told that the opening time for a BD is 0. This i am skeptical of as it is SS (12")

any ideas?

I am assuming the loads is constantly applied and therefore there is no appropriate ramp down of the forces..

At time 0seconds you have no load, at time 0 seconds + 0.0000000x???? seconds the disc bursts and you have full load. Yes there has to be a time associated with the bursting of the disc but its got to be damned small. And until it bursts you have no load!

And don't forget to apply a dynamic load factor!

A pretty good attempt to investigate this and not a bad report, interesting reading

GREATTTTTTT STUFFFFFF!!!!!! Thanks ever so much and thanks to the U.K. ...

I will read this thoroughly later tonight but some points I got from a 2 min scan...

1) PSVs that chatter beat the hell out of the system they are part of therefore "ANCHORING" near to them is essential if the possibilty of chatter is pressent... Having seen steam systems do this I can tell you its quite alarming.

2)Rupture discs burst reallly fast.

So, was this a single copy link? Now that the
Canuck loonie is higher than it's been in a while
$100USD sounds like a bargain. So if there's more
let us know and we'll start a flood of requests
(grin).

Otherwise, let me know when you're tired of your
copy and I can be sure to give it a good home.

OK, NOW I give up...

I'm not normally insulted by things, but
I followed one of the eng-tips links,
took me to used.addall.com search,
clicked on the cheapest one. and

8 Design of Piping Systems[Buy it!]

[match this title] Kellogg 149.97

which had a link to the half.com listing for
the book. Clicked on the link and got (I kid
you not)

The Dumb Bunnies Go to the Zoo
(which was out of stock anyway)...

Ah well. I'll just keep hoping a copy magically
apperas in a local used book store, and will
have more fun looking htat way.
