One of the many nice things about Chuck Becht's book

http://catalog.asme.org/books/PrintBook/Process_Piping_Complete_Guide.cfm

is that in his (Appendix III) "Weight of Piping Materials" tables, he includes the weight of the bolting with the weight of the flanges.

Regards, John.

Wow, this is harder than I thought it would be! Foglamp, have you found a source for B16.47 flange weights yet? That is something that I need too.

My understanding is that B16.47 uses MSS SP-44 and "other" (maybe API 605 or API Spec 6A???) large diameter flange dimensions. I have an olde Tube Turns book (Catalog 411, circa 1985) that includes the dimensions for flanges of those Standards but no weights. I would be interested in seein this data if it is available from a manufacturer.

Regards, John.

John,

B16.47 (I have 1996 edition which I think is the latest) covers flanges from 26” through 60” diameter. It includes weld neck and blind flanges only. There are two types of flange included: Series A and Series B.

Series A are the former MSS SP-44 flanges. Classes included are 150, 300, 400, 600 and 900.

Series B are the former API 605 flanges. Classes included are 75, 150, 300, 400, 600 and 900.

Regards,

I just noticed, the Texas Flange catalog that Arijit sites above does give weights for a variety of flanges including B16.47. Go to the website, click on “New Print Version of Catalog,” and look at pages 15 through 25.
