Dear friends
I met a question when I model a pipe system. That is the thrust is too big. The thrust become lower after I add a expansion,, but it is still larger than the equipment allowable thrust. Why is it? How can I reduce the thrust? Can you help me?
Thanks in advance!

Exansion? thrust loads?

1.The expansion joint has a axial stifness, multiply that by your axial deflection and if to big, then the expansion joint is to stiff (or the equipment too weak)

1a. Dont forget the thrust loads generated by the convolutions if your nozzle realy is weak

2.Read the application guides on expansion joints
(which would have made point one obvious)
the thrust load locations as generated be caesar may not be appropriate (remove the effective area)

3.ask your senior engineer for advice once completed
