I want to replace a variable spring support on existing process pipe line [due to external corrosion on spring].We have not done any modification on this line, since commisioning [20 years back].

I ordered new spring support based on the details of existing spring support.i.e. Hot load, Travel and variation.

But the manufacturer has offered spring with lesser variation than the existing.i.e. spring will have lesser stiffness and lesser cold load setting. But it meets the Hot load and travel requirment.

To accept the spring, do I need to do stress analysis of the line with input of new spring details? If yes why?

Or lesser vaiation means lesser unbalanced load in cold condition, so it is acceptable as longs it meets the hot load and travel requirement?
