Sometimes when i create a CII model, there are 2 PCF files or more created. If I continue the analysis shall this affect the results?
Sometimes IF am right if i have a failure it can go away when i try to rearrange the model build up to get one PCF file generated.
Also i noticed now in the version 2013 R1 , when i have two non connected systems i don't have any warnings like before so does this mean than now CII can analyse two non connected systems at one time?
For intergraph specialists please review the submitted ticket 1-340881661

CAESAR II only creates a PCF if you export the model to Isogen. The PCF will not affect the results. Depending on the size of the model, Isogen will break the model into several PCF files and related drawings. If you don't like this, you will have to use the "Edit Stress Annotations\Split", to define where you want things broken.

Rearranging a model to solve an issue, would overwrite an existing PCF.

You could always analyze disconnected systems. However CAESAR II should display a warning during the analysis that the system is disconnected.

Speaking of overwriting of the pcf, I would like to have an option that allow me to prevent the pcf to be overwrited everytime. The reason is that I normally want to edit the pcf (e.g. to change the blind flanges to WN flanges), see the results then to keep what is good and change what is not. For the moment, I need to keep a copy of the pcf in another folder and to paste it to the pcf that is newly generated.

Regards,

Dan, I'm confused. If you modify the PCF and want to reuse it, why would you export the model again? Put your thoughts in an e-mail and send them in - it will be more efficient than bouncing ideas back and forth here in the Forum.

My message to the developers : The PCF processor should recognize continuous system across element 1 in the list even when that element is not an actual end-point.
Currently Stress-ISO generated by CII has so many problems , my major is having many PCF created for one model.

CAESAR II generates one PCF. It is ISOGEN that breaks the PCF into several drawings. The only way to override this is to use the "Split" function discussed above.

Abdelhadi,

We will welcome your suggestions, please file those as well.

Are they recorded in this SR 1-340881661 ?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes thats right its recorded in that ticket mentioned.Even if I force ISOGEN not to split ISO drawings still it creates multiple PCF files.
I would like to point out that this I have been seeing many years ago since I used CII when ISOGEN was first introduced to it i remember round 2005-2006, sometimes I avoid two PCF being created in one model but in this case I will avoid the copy option during building the model. So if i have for example 6 identical branches i draw them all myself and dont copy in the list grid.Other solution i found was to do lots of editing in stress ISO , both ways takes long time.
Finally i will point out that the same model created by CII when I export it to Autopipe it opened there with no problem and ISOGEN there created one PCF file with no problem.
