Dear all,
I am doing a stress analysis on an Low Pressure superheater pipe using CAESAR II software. The output of the analysis (static) would be the displacement, the forces, restraints, etc. I have question regarding this:
1. How can I verify the output of the software? For example, can I do this: compare the output of the software such as the displacement, to actual pipe hanger reading or pipe hanger design data?
2. I have been thinking to do some manual calculation such as Thermal Movement Calculations (reference: Mohinder L, Nayyar, Piping Handbook, McGraw-Hill) of this particular piping system and compare it to the displacement result of stress analysis I carried out.
3. What is the practice to check whether the pipe stress analysis result is accurate and correct?
Please advice and comment.
Thank you.
Regards,
Hafiz
