Hi to all,
I have some doubt about to using DNV coding. In those DNV coding I do not know how can I key in Sy value. And then I want to refer ns and nu . If I press F1 key, they simply mentioned Hoop stress usage factor tables c1 and CAESAR II of DNV. They did not mention the chapter. How can we find out the chapter. Because i refer DNV-OS-F101 (Submarine Pipeline systems). but i can not find out the Table?

Please help me to resolve the problem?

CAESAR II implements the 1996 edition of DNV "Rules for Submarine Pipeline Systems".

Sy is an input item, at the bottom of the Allowable Stress dialog. The various "usage factors" discussed in the Help Text can be found on pages 28 and 30 of the above edition of the Code.

Sy isn't listed in DnV. Your Sy (material yield strength) should be listed in your project specifications. Sy values are listed in the CAESAR II material database for most materials. If the one you're looking for isn't there, you'll have to ask your material specialist or contact your material supplier.

hi

now in DNV code 2010 edition the factors like nu ns and n
are not mentioned and now they provided some other values
the factors are also changed in the latest edition
is it ok to use the older values (factors like nu ns and n)

CAESAR II does not address the 2010 Edition of DNV. CAESAR II implements the 1996 Edition.

Editions after 1996 changed the analysis method. CAESAR II is not setup to address this. If you must use an edition later than 1996, you can't use CAESAR II.
