Hi,

I am modeling a straight run 8" GRP Pipe (3.8 m long) anchored at both ends. The pipe is analyzed with UKOOA code with input data from the vendor(AMERON Bondstrand). I have 3 operating cases

L1:W+P1+T1
L2:W+P1+T2
L3:W+P1+T3

The temps T1, T2 and T3 are 49,34 and 0 deg Celsius respectively. The ref temp is 19 deg. Coeff of expansion =18E-6 mm/mm/degC and Pressure P1 is 5 bar guage.

When I run the cases and check my stresses strangely all my stresses(axial, bending, code ect) are the same for all three temp cases. The hoop stress is the highest stress.

When I remove substitute one anchor for a guide the pipe expansion is different for all three cases. This has me stumped!! Am I missing something? Could some kind samaritan please help?

I have attached my file Test123.CAESAR II to the post.

Thanks

NVK
