Is it technically acceptable to do equal stab-ins?

uhm stab in = pipe to pipe intersection?

If so then pressure design becomes a consideration see B31.1 / B31.3 for how to check the pressure requirements on a pipe on pipe intersection see B31.3 304.3.2 or the equivalent in B31.1, also your SIF will be UFT.....

My question was regards equal branch connections
of D/d=100 B31.3 304.3.1/b/1

Is it normal for engineers to turn a blind eye for equal branch connections(D/d=100) by say adding a repad?

OR is 1 dia less than the run pipe the absolute max?

The codes B31.1/ B31.3 will allow D/d = 1.0 but they require somebody to make sure the intersection is ok for pressure and you will get hit with a large SIF.

However you may do so... questionable though it may be.
