Dear All

I have a question about friction stiffness, as I read in Tecnical Refernce Manual, it is possible to change this value to low when problems of sliding or not sliding for friction, but I make an exercise with Caesar.

I have a model that canīt close the calculus, so I reduce the friction stiffness untiel 1.00e+004, then it close; then gradually I increment that until 1.00e+006. I compare the results, restraints in anchors (nozzle of vessel for WRC107), but I found the same reactions. Is this correct? or I missunrdesttod something? or maybe an error of software.

Any explanations will be greatful.

B. regards,

I presume, each time you changed the configuration, that you restarted the analysis process from the Input Module? The "Input/Error Check" phase is how configuration directives that affect the numerical results get into the analysis stream.

Assuming this is what you did, different values of friction stiffness would affect the solution, with regard to the order restraints converge. However, a given value (say 1E6) should always yield the same result.
