Does anybody know how Caesar accounts for socket weld fittings at different class ratings if you don't know the SIFs?

Thanks,

Louie

CAESAR II calculates SIFs based on what the applicable Piping Code states. Most Codes either simply state an SIF for sockets, or provide a simple equation proportional to the fitting thickness/fillet length.

So how would I specify a 150 # (or 300/2000/3000/6000#) class rating in Caesar without knowing the SIF to input?

At an elbow I can select socket weld from the drop down menu. Is there a place to put a # rating, or change the thickness to match? OR, do I calculate the SIFs manually and enter them?

Thanks,

Louie

You can specify the thickness in the "fitting thickness" field. There is no field for the rating.
