Dear Sirs,

I read several thread about Blast load but they are not clear for answering my questions. Please guide me.

1- Which one of the pressures of the blast report should I put in the user defined wind pressure vs elevation? "Over pressure" or "drag pressure"?

2- Can I use this value at any elevation?

3- In one of the threads mentioned that stress of piping may be higher than yield stress in blast analysis. But Is there any criteria which mentions about limit of Stress Ratio? If stress ratio is about 99% of OCC allowable stress(As we know blast is occasional), is it acceptable?

See DNV-RP-D101, 3.11.2 Accidental blast loads and allowable stresses, Table 3-1

POint no 3:

Maximum allowable stress in blast case shall be the minimum of 2,4 x S or 1,5 x SY ,

where S is the ASME B 31.3 allowable stress limit and SY is the pipe material yield stress.

The standard stress intensification factor values can be multiplied with a factor of 0,75 for the explosion
design case. However, the stress intensification factor values shall not be less than 1,0.

Refer L-0002 attached.

I have some mails regarding blast. give me your mail id.

Start with this one (DNV-RP-D101), then search the internet and also this forum. There are a lot of good things.
