When analysing an abutting nozzle for large opening as per App. 1-10, PVElite shows following caution message;

"This Nozzle Configuration is not applicable per Appendix 1-10"

Can you please elaborate?

In ASME Section VIII, Division 1, Appendix 1-10 restricts the design to inserted nozzles only. I draw you attention to Figures 1-10-1 and 1-10-2 in Appendix 1-10. That is the reason you are getting that error message. Also in Division 1, Appendix 1-10 only applies to cylinders and cones.

In view of Figures 1-10-1 and 1-10-2 in Appendix 1-10, simillar figures were given in Appendix 1-7 also (refer Fig. 1-7-1 & 1-7-2).

If we analyse an abutting nozzle for large opening as per App. 1-7, PVElite does not show simillar caution message.

Why???

(I had same problem as mention above)so what do i do to complete calculation.

I mean," I know,Per ASME Division 1, Appendix 1-10 only applies to cylinders and cones".

what is the other alternative to run or to do this calculation. I have to penetrate 24" Id Nozzle on shell.
