I am studying stress analysis with a senior analyst. He is now 60 year old, he is able to use Caesar but he says that in the old days he did calculations by hand following the Kellogg book, which as I have read in this forum is a bible for piping stress. For a deeper understanding I thought I should read some good book, do you advice some more recent BIBLE?

Piping is not like romance novels - we don't see new titles very often. There have been several posts about recent books here - try the search function.

As Craig said, a new book about piping design and analysis is not published every day, mainly cause the basics are still the same as 50 years ago. These old books will be as good as new versions.
You can also search this forum for the Spielvogel book. It's not available anymore in book stores, but someone here can send you the pdf I think. Just search the forum.

The Piping Handbook, originally by Crocker and King has been updated and published by new authors, not sure who. The old book book had some excellent advice on stress and support issues, including operation of stiffness matrix based FE programs.

Looks like an interesting book. Peng wrote the original Simflex program and has since written many papers on pipe stress engineering.

I noted the reference to a senior analyst being 60 years old. Just in his prime I reckon. Coincidentally, 60 years must be close to the average age of stress engineers in the UK right now.

All the old and out-of-print books (Kellogg, Speilvogle, Tube Turns (ARC Markl), etc.) are out on the "share" web sites now so read them first. Also download the non-copyrighted piping publications from American Lifelines and the Los Alamos National Laboratory and read those.
