Dear Mr. Richard,
In CAESAR II 5.3 version, When I enter the gasket diameter in the "FLANGE CHECK" input screen, it doesn't show my inputted value. it shows the default value as per "ASME 2003.G" file kept in the system folder of caesar.

But When i run the analysis and check "FLANGE EQ." results, it shows my inputted value.

Example: Flange : 36" - 600# with 2.8 material class has gasket dia as 965 mm.

I overwrite it and input as 988 mm. still it shows 965 mm in the input screen. but when i run the anaysis and check the equivalent pressure check then it shows 988 mm. so calculations are as per 988 mm but display is 965 mm.

Why it is happening? is there any problem with my installation OR system folder? please reply.

Moreover if i don't change it to 988 and keep it as 965 (default value taken by CAESAR), It shows as 38 in output which is nothing but 965/25.4.
Please reply..

Thanks

By installing it properly, the problem got resolved now.. Thanks for your concern..

But, now when i tick FLANGE LEAKAGE option, fill the gasket dia and RUN the system then it takes huge time to RUN... PC speed becomes too slow.. i am using 4 GB RAm but still there is a problem..

If no flange is checked for leakage then this problem doesnt occure...

The flange rating check shouldn't add anything to the run time. How many flanges are in your job? Don't allocate more RAM than you really need, since giving too much to CAESAR II can slow down Windows.

Sorry for not eloberating the problem.

I have just clicked one flange for leakage check and start the RUN.
CAESAR itself takes too much time for error check and then analysis run whenever i click any flange leakage check. As soon as i remove flange check then it RUNs normally.

Is it due to internal problem OR flange leakage check module problem?
