You don't input these details, the software deterimines what the minimum plate dimensions should be.

Dear Mr Richard,

Thanks for your prompt response.
But my output file shows "annular base plate computation error" warning.
How can i solve this.

I'm guessing you're running Version 3.30 or earlier, right?

The Code's implementation of the equations here was incorrect. The Code changed the equation in the most recent Edition, and that change appears in Version 4.00 (2012).

Dear Mr. Ay,

It is true that API 650/5.5.3 imposes a thickness of the annular bottom plates which shall not be less than the greater thickness determined using Tables 5-1a/ 5-1b for product design or for hydrostatic test design.

In case E.6.2.1.1.2 "Annular Ring Requirements" is applicable (i.e. tank is Self-Anchored) there are restrictions as "The thickness, ta [...] shall not exceed [...]", so we can consider these restrictions as giving also a maximum ta.

Thickness ta is the calculation basis of the width (inside projection) in both basic body of API 650 and Appendix E.

That means that API 650 allows to work with ta greater than the minimum one- and anyway considers also the possibility to establish an L based on ta considered.

For these reasons I reiterate the recommendations that were made here by a contributor; I add that IMO it would be nice but also is necessary to give the freedom to user input of ta, L and hydrotest extra fill height:

"It would be nice if the annular plate thickness and widths could be entered manually, cross-checked with the minimums per the std. and weight calculations be carried out with the higher thickness and width.

It would be even nicer if an optional fluid height entry be added for hydrotest case as extra fill height for hydrotest is quite a common issue we are facing.
"

best regards.
