Dear Gents,
I have a problem with material 1.7380 EN10216-2 ed. 2007 (10CrMo9-10)...
EN code gives:
- Minimum proof strength Rp0,2 at Temperature up to 500°C (table 5);
- Creep rupture strength values up to 600 °C (Appendix A table A.1)

Which is the reasons because in CII 5.2 and 5.3 maximum allowable stress is given only up to 500°C? Is there a limitation of temperature?

Thanks

My opinion is that Caesar database for EN13480 is in fact CODETI database. This explain for example why it have values for -40 C, while EN13480 do not have values for negative temperatures. You need to modify / create new material when you have temperatures outside caesar database range.

Hello there

EN 10216-2 1.7380 10CrMo9-10 material has mechanical (Rp0,2) properties up to 500C. The creep rupture temperature starts at 450C according to the specification. You are correct that in Table A1 the temperature goes up to 600C, but we as a conservative measure limited the temperature to 500C

And just for the record, the EN materials in CAESAR II are not from CODETI. The materials data is taken from the individual specifications, such as EN 10216-2 mentioned above.

Many thanks Ray!!!
So only for information, is your conservative limitation based on similar ASME steels?

Thanks
Best Regards

Simone
