I'm currently using CII Ver 5.30.03 build 120131. Of late, I've been experiencing this problem on changing the values in .cfg file like installation temp or code case 178 or default spring vendor selection etc etc.If I try to change any of the current values & save the cfg file, it revert to original value (before changing) on re-opening the file. Though, this doesn't happen when I open it using notepad or MSWORD & change the value & save it.

Is this some kind of bug as this didn't happen earlier.

Rich/Dave please help.

Thanks in anticipation.

Several important Config items are initialized for NEW JOBS. Existing models are unaffected so existing models have other ways to reset. I think you are seeing this.

Let me add that many Config items are also invoked by running through the error checker, not just re-analysis.

Thanks Dave for your response. But my problem is not what you think of!!!

I'm trying to create a new .cfg file for a new project. For that,I'm using a config file & trying to change the amb temp & spring defaukt vendor along with other data.On changing these & saving these in cfg file, running the model & then opening cfg file , I dont find those changes & reverts to the previous values. Though I'm successfully able to do it by opening the cfg file in WORD or notepad & saving the same,

This is not happening with other Caesar-II users here & not even with me sometime back!!

Rich

How is it possible to set password for cfg file? Do you mean "full control" for me for cfg file. I do have "full control" for my log in & this problem has started in last week or so. Before that, everything was fine.

Let me know what can be done to resolve

Thanks!!

When your Data Directoty is \system, you have the option in the Configuration module to set a password on the cfg file. If one is set, you cannot change any setting that would affect the results.

Rich..

Can you please guide me to "lock" or set password to a cfg file?

Also, please help to resolve the issue. Should I re-install C-II.?

Something has changed on your machine (you said it worked fine until recently). I'm guessing the CFG file is locked with a password, but it is just a guess. Open a Support Request on eCustomer so the Support group can get onto your machine and resolve this issue.

Is is it so that eCustomer is only for U.S or Canadian customers?

Because clicking on the local offices link (my Case India) & going to "support" at india website of Coade redirects me to the same page which says "its for U.S or canadian customers only".

I hope I'm not trapped in a never ending labyrinth!!!

On a safer side, I've sent an email to ppmcrm@intergraph.com with my problem. Hope they will dig me out. confused

Its really unfortunate that my problem is still unresolved. On contacting the local support office for resolution, they came up with few ideas & ended up saying its a "RIGHTS" issue. So I was asked to contact IT to provide full "rights". But this doesn't help either & the problem is as it is!!

This is the first time I've enciuntered such problem which is not resolved!!

And why on earth, the eCustomer is not for customers outside US/Canada?

Hope this will be extended to all.

Dave/Rich , please help.

Check your Environment Variable for the "PATH", and make sure it contains "c:\windows\system32". If this isn't there the REGSVR32 command won't run, and therefore the DLLs won't be registered.

You can verify this by running \caesarii\netuserc2.bat from the command prompt. You should be able to see if REGSVR32 run and register the DLLs.

If you go to http://www.coade.com/Support/Dealers.shtml to see who to contact (e-mail and phone numbers) for your location. If they cannot answer your question then we will be notified by them and will help you. Since you are in India, your contact is plantsupport@klgsystel.com . We also have a support person in India who can help in a timely manner if KLG is unable to help you.

Rich,

On running REGSVR32, I got this message(see attached jpeg file).Does that mean that there are some issues with the DLL files or DLLs are not registered?

To run REGSVR32 the proper command is:

"regsvr32 xxxxxx.dll", where "xxxxxx" is the DLL name. The one requirement is that you have Admin rights, otherwise REGSVR32 will not attempt to register the DLL.

I too, am having this problem ( e-ticket for help has been requested)

However, if i reset the .cfg defaults to "Currnet" and then re-enter my changes, the cfg lets me save !

Odd, It would be interesting to know why this it.
