Dear all,
I am working on a sub sea piping in which i have used ASME B 31.8 . when the result comes out it is not showing the hydrodynamic loading separately, because of this my senior engineer (not familer with CAESAR ) asking that where is the WAVE and CURRENT loading . and also he said that this software only consider the hoopstress, axial strss and combined stresses.
When i am refering this in asme b31.8 i also felt that there have no equation for this loading . if any one know this thing please clarify my problm regarding how caesar applying environmental loading to the system.

Thanks

Did you include WAVx in the load case?

When you run B31.8 Ch VIII, CAESAR II does compute the three Code Stresses: hoop, longitudinal, and combined. However, the output report only has a single column for the Code and Allowable stress. So internally CAESAR II determines which of the three Code stresses govern (at each node), and then puts this governing Code and Allowable stress in the report.

(The governing pair of values is determined as the largest ratio of {code stress / allowable stress}.)

Dear Richard,

yes i have already inputed all the WAVE and CURRENT load, and updated my CODE to ASME B 31.4 section IX. and i have done the analysis. now the problm is that my client is asking for the values of the hydrodynamic loads and Buoyancy Weight on the reports otherwise they will not accept that hydrodynamic load has been applied to the system.

Thanking you
