Dear Richard,

If we have no nozzle loads, so can we check the nozzle on wrc107. Beacause my equipment is exiting and no data is available.

Although Richard is supposed to answer this question, I believe you can use WRC for vessel nozzle load calcultion in Brown fields,
Or you can use Nozzle pro as an alternative...

Our company standard goes like this:
1. Check the loads against the allowable loads given by equipment manufacturer for the nozzles.
2. If these loads are not available, then check against loads given in table 'so-n-so'.
3. If the loads are more than the loads given in this table, check with WRC-107.

This goes for pressure vessels! Please note that other limitations of the WRC-107 would hold good anyhow.

And wrc 107 used for Stresses only
I am not agree with you (as per your 3 point)
I think if loads are more then the allowalbe loads then check with wrc 297.
In caesar there is option in wrc 107 to put the loads and check the stress thats it.
and wrc 297 shows the nozzle loads using the nozzle flexibility.
And 2 point you are saying the table which table.
can you tell us which table please.

The main point was that it is not the end of the world, if you don't have the allowable loads for nozzles from the manufacturer. There are other ways to check if the nozzles would remain ok with piping loads!!!!!

1. Table "so-n-so", is in my company's standard document. Cant share the document with you.

2. @ nas, no problem, if you don't agree but only think why forces are evaluated for nozzles. Loads are what cause stresses! Right?

You mean to say if existing equipment nozzle allowable loads not available then you check with your company standard. ist ok. I dout.
May be equipment nozzle allowable is less as per your company std. aloowable.
I think you have to check with wrc 107.

I suppose you could guess at a set of loads and keep increasing them to the point of failure (in WRC). Or, as stated above, you could check (with WRC) against a possible set of maximum loads your company standard my recommend. Either way, you're guessing until you have the real loads on the nozzle.
