Dear All

I am first time doing analysis on furnace.

If we analyze the nozzle moment and forces of a fired heater using API560, should we also model the tubing inside the fired heater?

In the API560 analysis window, we are required to input
(a) tube axial force,
(b) tube horizontal shear force,
(c) tube vertical shear force,
(d) tube torsional moment,
(e) tube horizontal moment,
(f) tube vertical moment

Is this mean we need to model the tubing so that we can get these values?

Anyone have examples to refer to?

Thank you
Loh

Dear Lohpe,
you just have to model your side of piping till end of your scope and model pseudo anchor at the end flange and measure the forces and moments. you might have got deadline of 2 or 3 times API 560 values which is to be maintained.
